Putting their passion and know-how for good food to work, Chanida Nilklad and Chef Boy have teamed up to bring you delectably delicious fare here at Chiang Mai’s best kept secret, the Little Glass House Café restaurant.
As life in the kitchen is nothing new to members of the Nilklad family, opening the restaurant doors to the Little Glass House Café was a natural next step for Chanida Nilklad. Chanida’s mother emigrated from Thailand to America, where she enjoyed a long career as chef at one of the largest Thai restaurants in Los Angeles, California. While on her own world travels, Chanida always put her love of good food front and center.
Before returning to her native Thailand, Chanida worked on both the business and service side at a number of fine restaurants in California.
A Passion For Good Food
It has been a twenty-year journey. Early in his professional life, Noppadol Kanjanasapa, known in restaurant circles as ‘Chef Boy’, had a plan all mapped out. As an apprentice at 5-star restaurants and hotels, he would learn, grow, and work his way up under some of the best chefs in Thailand, paying close attention how each approached the art and technique of fine cooking.
Chef Boy learned while he worked his way through their demanding kitchen ranks, focusing on every aspect of food preparation, from years of know-how in handpicking the freshest ingredients and selecting the right balance of spices, to their best kept secrets of French, Italian, and Continental cooking technique artistry.
Before teaming up with Chanida to open the doors of Chiang Mai’s Little Glass House Café, Chef Boy was Sous Chef at the renowned Villa Maroc Resort in Pranburi. Earlier, as Chef de Partie – Dusit Thani’s San Marco Italian Cuisine in Hua-Hin, he added fine Italian cooking to his repertoire. Chef Boy’s journey in the kitchen began as cook at The Terraces, part of the Five-Star Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai.
With their wonderful selection of French, Italian and Mediterranean fare, Chanida and Chef Boy strive to always maintain both freshness and quality in every dish the Little Glass House Café restaurant serves.
